Forestay is eye-to-turnbuckle. Wire is 316 1x19, 5/32”. Please provide us the length of your existing rigging when it is adjusted to its normal sailing setting (medium air). For the shrouds and forestay, measure from bearing surface of the fork or the eye to the bearing surface of the toggle at bottom of the turnbuckle. Note that the official length of the Ensign forestay from eye center to eye center including turnbuckle, toggle(s), and any stretch when turnbuckle is pinned in its maximum extended position shall be no greater than 26’ 3-3/4”. New England VPC, with a blended Vectran core, is a great middle ground between price and performance. New England Sta-Set is economical, but relatively stretchy and will absorb water. Topping lifts are whipped at the bitter end and have a Wichard snap hook (WC2480) spliced to the working end. ENSIGN060 Maxibraid Plus Covered $89.19 ENSIGN062 VPC Covered $71.85 ENSIGN061 Endura Braid Covered $98.71 ENSIGN063 Sta-Set Covered $55.71 Jib Halyard Adjustment System Ensign Mainsheet 5/16”, Maffioli Swiftcord and New Yale Ph.D. are single braids with a soft feel and easy to grip. Ph.D. is a Dyneema/polyester blend with a soft hand and very low stretch. Swiftcord is a Dyneema/Cordura blend for longer life with a great hand feel. Samson MLX, a blended Dyneema/polypropylene core, does not absorb water and provides low stretch. New England Sta-Set is economical, but relatively stretchy and absorbs water. All are whipped on the bitter end and have a carbine hook spliced to the working end. In light air, disconnect the carbine hook from the becket on your mainsheet block. This will reduce the purchase, but make sheeting the boom in/out much faster at mark roundings. ENSIGN100 Swiftcord $142.76 ENSIGN102 MLX $157.77 ENSIGN103 Sta-Set $85.12 ENSIGN104 Ph.D. $137.40 The Ensign jib halyard fine tune adjustment system is very unique and effective. The key to the ease of adjustment is the 8:1 magic box. The line from the box is cleated to a small cam cleat (H468). The other end has a 3/16” Amsteel strop running from the clevis pin on the box through a 40mm Harken carbo block (which is shackled to a second of the same block) and spliced to a welded pad eye. The halyard leads through a 40mm carbo cheek block mounted on the side of the mast just off of the deck. It the runs through the second of the united singles, back through another cheek (mounted on the deck to port) and back to a large cam cleat (H150). Once the halyard is hoisted and cleated off you can play the line off of the magic box to fine tune halyard tension. Complete System $327.75 ENSIGN800 Padded Non-Padded Ensign Hiking Straps Ensign Jib Sheets Samson MLX has a blended Dyneema/polypropylene core with a polyester cover and is a great jib sheet. Neither of the core materials absorb water which keeps the sheet lighter. Dyneema greatly reduces stretch. The polyester cover is wear resistant and ensures a long life. Sta-Set is an economical choice, but will absorb water and has more stretch. Both Maxibraid and Endura Braid have hard wearing polyester cover with 100% Dyneema cores for zero stretch performance. All are whipped on each end. Just luggage tag the middle of the sheet to the clew of your jib and you have two sheets ready for sailing. ENSIGN090 3/8” MLX $130.45 ENSIGN091 3/8” Sta-Set $62.62 ENSIGN092 3/8” Endura Braid $186.31 ENSIGN093 3/8” Maxibraid $123.61 Ensign padded hiking straps start with 2” wide low stretch webbing. Seven feet of the middle of each strap is padded with closed cell foam on both sides and covered with Sunbrella, which lasts longer than any other fabric in the sun. Made to run from the cabin bulkhead in the front of the cockpit to the stern cockpit bulkhead. Non padded straps are made with 2” Marlow hiking strap webbing. Both have one end with a sewn loop for attaching with a footsman’s loop (screwed in strap) while the other is unfinished and secured to an adjuster slide (webbing buckle) that is screwed to the bulkhead. Both types sold as a pair. ENSIGN500 Padded -Black, Blue or Red $130.54 $41.46 ENSIGN510 Non-Padded -Black, Blue or Red Ensign Spinnaker Sheets 5/16” Maffioli Swiftcord or New Yale Ph.D. are single braids with a soft feel and are easy to grip. Ph.D, a Dyneema/polyester blend is our lowest stretch single braid. Swiftcord is a Dyneema/Cordura blend providing longer life. Flight Line and Samson Ultra-Lite have the more traditional feel of a double braid. Both are Dyneema/polypropylene blends which keeps them light. Flight Line has a 100% Dyneema core that keeps stretch to an absolute minimum. All four options provide very low stretch to reduce pole bounce on the headstay. All are whipped at the bitter end and have a Ronstan sister hook (RF89) spliced to the working end. If you have the older aluminum clips on your spinnaker, you will need to replace them. ENSIGN081 Ultra Lite $108.25 ENSIGN083 Swiftcord $133.44 ENSIGN084 Flight Line $125.67 ENSIGN085 Ph.D. $128.08 Ensign covers, accessories, and hardware Ensign Spinnaker Pole We offer a complete aluminum pole with all Forespar components. We make these 2” poles with UXP Ultra Series composite ends. Composite fittings keep the pole ends light and stainless jaw-sliders have just the right angle to “slam” the end onto the mast bail without first tripping the end. A Spectra trip line is run directly from one jaw slider to the other to make tripping easy. We through-bolt eye straps to the middle of the pole for the topping lift and foreguy. This bridleless setup keeps pole handling tangle free and straightforward. Made to the maximum class length.
